Meet Dr. Anna

My mission is to provide inspiring and personalized piano instruction that nurtures musical growth, confidence, and creativity. Through a foundation in classical training and an adaptive teaching approach, I strive to help each student reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love for music. 🎵✨

Dr. Anna Barnutiu has been a dedicated piano teacher since 2005, with extensive experience in both one-on-one and group settings, working with students as young as 3 years old and beyond. Over the past two decades, she has specialized in teaching learners with diverse needs, including those with learning disabilities, deafness, and blindness. Dr. Anna’s teaching philosophy centers on understanding each student's unique needs and personal musical goals. Her students pursue a variety of objectives, from playing for personal enjoyment to preparing for prestigious piano examinations (such as Certificate of Merit and ABRSM) or even earning a college music degree.

Dr. Anna is deeply committed to adapting her teaching approach to suit the diverse learning styles of her students—whether visual, aural, or kinesthetic—ensuring that each learner receives a personalized experience that fosters optimal growth and mastery. As a result, no two students follow the same methods or use identical supplemental materials.

Beyond her role as a dedicated educator, Dr. Anna serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Music Teachers Association of California, Diamond Bar Branch. She also teaches at the Academy of Music for the Blind, where she works as a certified music teacher for blind students, further expanding her impact in the field.

Driven by a passion for supporting fellow educators, Dr. Anna has developed a new online content business, Successful Music Teaching. Through this platform, she helps new and aspiring music teachers find their instructional voice, build their teaching philosophy, and navigate the business aspects of music education.

As a classical pianist, Dr. Anna is deeply committed to fostering her students' connections with foundational classical repertoire, all while guiding them to explore music that resonates with their personal interests. She credits her success in performance, teaching, and academia to the guidance of her teachers, the support of her family, and her faith in Jesus Christ.
